Good morning and welcome back, I have some (potentially) BAD news for all you college football fans out there. I have been browsing the web and have come across some news that the Ohio State vs. Alabama game may be moved back at least a week to January 18th instead of next Monday the 11th.
Message boards in Alabama are lighting up with rumors of a coronavirus outbreak for the Buckeyes and if this happens, I do not see how they will let this game happen on the 11th. The NCAA should want to have both teams as close to full strength as possible and playing a game with an outbreak on one side will ruin that chance, especially considering that this is the National Championship. There is nothing more that I would want to see than for Mac Jones and Devonta Smith (maybe Jalen Waddle??) face off against the Buckeye D. Jones had four touchdown tosses with three going to Smith against Notre Dame and that D of theirs while Najee Harris ran for over 100 yards AGAIN. On the other side, how can we see Fields build off of that IMPRESSIVE performance against Clemson when he threw six TDs and Trey Sermon ran ALL OVER that defense for damn near 200 yards.
No chance they cancel the game outright, it is FAR too important to both sides plus the networks and their pockets. Maybe a week delay will build the anticipation even more? Time will tell but this is a developing story and will definitely remain fluid. Stay tuned here and on my Twitter for updates!
